Tuyen Lam Lake is recognized as one of Vietnam’s 21 national tourist areas and is also the largest natural lake in Dalat.

Unlike other natural or artificial lakes, Tuyen Lam Lake, originally a stream in a wild valley at an altitude of over 1000m above sea level, was transformed into a reservoir by damming. This has resulted in a unique natural landscape with many secluded, pristine branches, offering diverse and ever-changing scenery at every corner. The lake’s emerald green color blends seamlessly with the surrounding vast pine forest.

Located 7 km from the center of Dalat city and 2 km from Datanla Waterfall, the lake is near Phuong Hoang Mountain. It is considered a complex area with many beautiful landscapes and diverse tourist services, making it suitable for sports activities, mountain climbing, boating, and fishing.

The climate here experiences four seasons in a single day. In the morning, the lake is covered in white mist and strangely quiet, with only the sound of birds chirping in a circle before fading into the calm surface. At noon, the sky is bright, the lake is a deep blue like the ocean, sparkling like glass. By afternoon, it softens in the cool light, and the lake gradually turns a deep blue.

Spring is considered the most beautiful season in Dalat, a favorite time for tourists to relax and travel. During this season, the weather is cool and dry, with flowers and plants bathed in bright sunshine, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere for travelers. This is also the season when hotels and resorts are usually operating at full capacity, so besides planning early, choosing a quality service brand and beautiful scenery is equally important to make your spring days more complete and meaningful.

Although the dry season in the Central Highlands is arid and lasts up to six months, the lake’s vast water reserves keep it perpetually emerald green and full year-round. Three-leaf pine forests cover the surrounding mountains and hills, stretching as far as the eye can see. All these elements combine to create a tranquil, peaceful, and uniquely poetic natural landscape.

Tourists can choose to reach Tuyen Lam Lake by road or, for a more exciting experience, by cable car to admire the lake from above. From the final cable car stop, you can gaze southeast towards Truc Lam Zen Monastery, taking in a panoramic view of this famous man-made landmark.
