Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night: Cai Be Authentic Homestay
The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam is crisscrossed by a network of smaller rivers, canals, and islands. It’s a home to floating markets and villages surrounded by rice paddies. This tour brings you to visit the busiest floating market – Cai Be, witness the daily activities, wander into the small villages to visit the orchards and fruit plantation, enjoy the traditional southern Vietnamese folk music, overnight homestay with local farmers, cycle in the island paths, and bring home nice pictures of the Mekong delta… 6:00 AM – 6:30 AM gather at Viet Dream Travel (184 Le Lai Street, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) or pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Depart for Cai Be by car/van via Trung Luong Expressway, overlooking the flat rice fields. Arrive at Cai Be around 9:00 AM; you will be transferred by motor boat to visit the Cai Be floating market, where many local people live and trade fruit and other commodities on board their vessels. Then you will visit a small family business to see how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made. Wandering through small villages to visit the orchard and fruit plantation, accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. Afterwards, rowing through a series of small canals to experience the charm of the Upper Mekong Delta. Arrive in Tan Phong Island, the green pearl, where you can enjoy yourself in nature. Lunch is served by fresh river food in the heart of the garden, it’s time for you to learn how to prepare Vietnamese dishes with a local chef. After that, you have free time to relax in the hammocks or cycle around the village path through orchards and a bonsai garden, meet the local islanders to learn more about the local daily life in the Mekong Delta, before boarding back to Cai Be. Homestay check-in. Enjoy dinner and experience a homestay. After breakfast, you will visit Mr. Ba Đức ancient house. It’s one of several houses preserved in a harmonious combination of two architectural styles: Vietnamese and French, whose shape is unique to the colonial period. You can also visit a rice husking mill to see how the local people produce rice. The Mekong Delta is popular for its own unique charm. In Cai Be, a lot of materials are still hand-crafted, such as “Cham La”, the coconut leaves used to weave the roofs of homes.
