Kon Ka Kinh National Park is one of the most important nature reserves in the Central Highlands region. With an area of ​​more than 41,700 hectares, this place was recognized by UNESCO as the Kon Ha Nung Plateau World Biosphere Reserve in 2021. The name Kon Ka Kinh originates from the mountain peak of the same name, about 1,748 m above sea level – one of the highest peaks in Gia Lai. Thanks to the high altitude, the climate in the national park is always cool; the average temperature ranges from 18–22°C, very suitable for ecotourism and trekking activities.

The most outstanding feature of Kon Ka Kinh is that the forest ecosystem is still preserved almost intact. This area possesses many different forest types such as closed evergreen forests, mixed broadleaf and coniferous forests, and bamboo forests typical of the Central Highlands. Hundreds-of-years-old trees, tangled vines, and lush green vegetation create a rare, pristine scene, giving the feeling of entering a “green lung” of the plateau.

Kon Ka Kinh is also considered one of Vietnam’s important biodiversity centers. According to survey results, the national park is home to thousands of animal and plant species, including many rare species recorded in Vietnam and the world’s Red Book.
