The beautiful green moss beach, more than 4km long, located on the coast of Tu Thien village (Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam, Ninh Thuan, currently Phuoc Dinh Commune, Khanh Hoa Province), has attracted many people to check in and visit in recent years.
This beach in Tu Thien village, more than 4km long, about 1km wide, is covered with green moss on a large coral reef, creating a beautiful “green moss field”.
The best time to visit the seaweed field is early summer, around March-April every year. At this time, the seaweed and moss plants grow just big enough to form patches, connecting with each other from one field to another, stretching over a coral reef, and lying along the reef by the sea.
In addition to the seaweed fields that grow on the limestone slabs, countless other plants and marine creatures live there, creating a diverse ecosystem, including sea grapes, starfish, sea fish, sea snails, sea worms, and soft corals.
Coming here, visitors will feel the smell of nature and the freshness of new buds, see crabs and snails hiding under the green mossy rocks, immerse themselves in nature, breathe fresh air, and experience a feeling of relaxation and peace.
Some things to note when visiting the moss field
According to local residents, visitors should pay attention to the following points when planning to visit the moss field:
Firstly, because of its dependence on the tide, the most suitable times to visit the moss field are from 4:00 am to 9:00 am in the morning and from 15:00 pm to 18:00 pm in the afternoon. Usually, the tide will be highest on the 1st, and the 15th of the lunar calendar is the lowest. Therefore, visitors should visit the moss field between the 14th and 20th of the lunar calendar at the above time frame.
Secondly, visitors should bring necessary items, such as slippers, for the seaweed field. Because if you go barefoot, your feet will hurt due to the coral stones pricking them. You should bring an umbrella, mask, sunscreen, sunscreen… because Ninh Thuan’s weather is almost hot all year round, especially in the moss field where there is no shade. Also, the field is so large that it will take you at least two hours to explore this place, so you need to protect yourself from sunstroke.
Third, as this is a newly discovered beauty, there are no services for tourists. Therefore, visitors should bring water and snacks… to explore this place longer. And remember to bring a bag to take the trash home, as there are no trash cans like in other tourist areas.
Fourth, visitors can park their vehicles on the sand, but remember to lock the steering wheel securely and protect their personal belongings, as there are no guards here.
Fifth and most importantly: do not pick moss, seaweed or sea grapes, catch snails, fish, soft corals… in this place.
