Famous spots in Pac Bo Historical Area
Lenin Stream and Karl Mark Mountain
At the foot of Karl Marx mountain is Lenin stream, both of them were name by President Ho Chi Minh. Lenin stream was formerly called Khuoi Giang stream by the locals, which in Tay language means “heavenly stream”. This is where the president often came to fish and relax after stressful working hours.
The stream is famous for its crystal clear blue water that can be seen at the bottom like a mirror reflecting the great scene of the earth and sky, creating a beautiful landscape. This destination is loved by many people because of its quiet space, poetic and lyrical scenery. There is really no beautiful word that can describe the beauty and purity of Lenin stream.
Through history, Lenin stream still retains its original beauty and increasingly attracts people to admire its gentle and charming beauty.
Karl Marx Mountain has a deep green forest with open terrain inside but is extremely rugged outside. Perhaps this is also one of the reasons why the mountain was chosen as a secret base. Near Karl Marx mountain, along Lenin stream, visitors will see the bamboo garden that President Ho Chi Minh planted still there, with a poetic and peaceful space.
Pac Po Cave
Pac Bo Cave, also known as Coc Po Cave, is only about 15 square meters wide, where President Ho Chi Minh, upon return from 30 years aboard, established his resident and worked on Vietnam’s Revolutionary course.
The cave contains many of his imprints such as his wooden bed, a fire to keep warm, a precarious stone table that he used at worked, or a flat rock where he used to sit and fished next to Lenin stream, a bamboo garden next to the cave… all of which are still there, and have become important historical marks of the Pac Bo historical area.

This is not only a tourist destination but also has historical and cultural values and shows respect and sacred feelings for the President Ho Chi Minh – the one who devoted himself to the independence of the country.
Khuoi Nam Hut
Khuoi Nam Hut is about 1km from Pac Bo Cave, this is where the president stayed the longest in Pac Bo, Cao Bang. The road to Khuoi Nam Camp is quite steep and winding at the foot of the mountain, but has now been paved with stone to make it easier to travel. Khuoi Nam hut was built near a stream, quite discreet, convenient for observation and retreat if there are enemies. The camp is quite small, only about 12m², built in a simple and rustic stilt house style.
