Quan Am Phat Dai Pagoda
Quan Am Phat Dai Pagoda (or Nam Hai Buddha) is located in Nha Mat Ward (Bac Lieu Ward). This sacred pagoda is a place to worship Nam Hai Bodhisattva , who always protects fishermen when going to sea.

The highlight of the pagoda campus is the statue, 11m high, 90m long, and 45m wide; it faces the East Sea. Along with that are architectural elements such as the three-door gate, Dia Tang Temple, Thien Thu Thien Nhan Temple, etc., creating a majestic appearance for Quan Am Phat Dai Pagoda. The Nam Hai Quan Am Festival is held from March 22 to 24 every year.
Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple
Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple (or Bang Pagoda) is a symbolic relic of the Chinese community in Bac Lieu. This ancient temple was built in 1810, located at: 74 Dien Bien Phu Street, Bac Lieu Ward.
Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple is a place to worship gods according to Chinese folk beliefs such as Bon Dau Cong (Mr. Bon), Quan De, Than Nong, Tho Cong… In which, Mr. Bon is the main god, who has contributed to helping people reclaim land and establish a career here.

Located in an area of 580m², the architectural works of Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple is gilded with splendid gold. From 1930 to 1954, Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple was also the revolutionary base of Long Thanh Village Party Cell. Every year, the Mr. Bon Festival is held at Phuoc Duc Ancient Temple on March 29.
Ghositaram Pagoda
Ghositaram Pagoda (or Cu Lao Pagoda) is located in Cu Lao Hamlet, Hung Hoi Commune, a pagoda with unique architecture, bearing the typical cultural features of the Khmer people in the South.

Built in 1860 on a 4ha campus, Ghositaram Pagoda includes architectural works such as the main hall, monks’ quarters, lecture halls, stupas, schools, anas… The main hall of the pagoda is quite impressive, measuring 427 m² and standing 36m high, standing out with the red-and-yellow tones typical of Khmer pagodas. Inside the main hall are carved and embossed with sophisticated patterns and reliefs depicting stories from the life of the Buddha and Buddhist teachings.

According to Khmer customs, when boys grow up (about 14-15 years old), they all go to Ghositaram Pagoda to practice and study Buddhist scriptures, Vietnamese and Khmer languages, and five-tone music… This is considered a form of filial piety for Khmer parents.
Xiem Can Pagoda
The elaborate architecture of the Khmer people was built in April 1887. Xiem Can Pagoda has become one of the cultural centers of Khmer spirituality and art. Every month, people here will come to the pagoda about 4 times to worship Buddha, chant sutras, and cultivate morality.

In addition, the pagoda grounds also teach Khmer, Pali, and Buddhist scriptures, and the pagoda also owns an ancient book written on leaves with 70 pages, along with many other valuable treasures of knowledge. When you come here, you will feel the peaceful, serene atmosphere and learn more about Khmer culture.
Some notes when coming to visit the attractive spiritual destinations in Bac Lieu
- Dress: Since these are religious destinations, you should wear polite, formal attire. Avoid wearing tank tops, shorts, short skirts or overly revealing clothes.
- Shoes: On the grounds, you will have to walk a lot, so choose comfortable, easy-to-wear shoes to avoid foot pain.
In addition, you should not bring food or drinks into the temple grounds, and you should turn off your mobile phone to avoid disrupting the sacred, quiet space of these areas.
