Cu Chi Tunnels is one of the most famous historical vestiges of Viet Nam’s national liberation war during 1945 – 1975. The first short, simple tunnels were established in 1948 in two communes in the north of Cu Chi District. Compared with the Ben Dinh site, the Ben Duoc is a less touristy route in Cu Chi Tunnel. This site is marvelous to explore for its narrow, rough underground passageways, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, shooting range, medical care chambers, commanding chambers, meeting chambers, bedrooms, and cooking by Hoang Cam stoves…
The private Cu Chi Tunnels half-day tour to Ben Duoc Temple offers travelers a flexible departure time, with free pickup and drop-off from the city center. Visitors will arrive at the tunnels after a 1.5-hour drive.
Enjoy the scenery along the way, as we pass the lush, endless rice fields, and the ducks are water buffaloes swimming in the rivers. You might find it hard to imagine that once the area was almost completely destroyed by bombs and mines from the war, when Cu Chi was a ″free target zone″.
Once we arrive, you will get a chance to walk through some of the tunnels, discover the hidden corners, and imagine what life was like here for the resistance soldiers. If you like, try cooking with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers during the war.
You can even try foods the soldiers ate. If you’re feeling brave or curious, you can even try your hand at shooting an AK-47, one of the guns used during the war.
The whole trip takes around 07 - 08 hours and will return to Ho Chi Minh City or any other destination, following your request, at the end of the Cu Chi Tunnels private tour.
