Mekong Delta 2 day tour: My Tho – Vinh Long – Can Tho

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Thap – Vinh Long – Can Tho

7:40 am: Gathering at Viet Dream Travel office – 184 Le Lai Street, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Free pick up from the hotel’s location on the main street around the backpacker area in Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

8:00 – 8:15 Am: You will be looking at the rice fields along the road and see the Vam Co Dong and Tan An. Go to My Tho (Dong Thap Province), and come to the  Vinh Trang Pagoda, which was built by Mr. and Mrs. Bui Cong Dat in the 19th century. Vinh Trang Pagoda is an architectural monument standing in the third row of all types of land temples in the southern part. 

Then boarding the sampan and cruising around four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands.

Stop by Unicorn Island (Vinh Long); visitors walk along village paths to contemplate local people’s houses and orchards, and enjoy the seasonal tropical fruits and Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử – A folk art form from Southern Vietnam, accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). Slowly crossing a workshop where coconut candies are produced, visit the local family business & bee-keeping farm, and enjoy honey tea and coconut candy at the workshop.

Before heading to lunch, I took a ride on a hand-rowing sampan and cruised through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lunch is served at a local restaurant by the river.

The afternoon is time for cycling around the village or relaxing on hammocks to enjoy the cool breeze for those who do not want to join the cycling trip.

Around 15:00, board a motorboat and head back to Vinh Long, depart to Can Tho, and overnight in this city. Dinner will be served on a cruise running along the river. 

Evening around (18:30):

– For the Deluxe group (3-star hotel), the bus takes you to Ninh Kieu wharf. You have a cozy dinner on a luxury yacht to explore Western cuisine on the Can Tho River and listen to Southern amateur music.

– For the standard group (standard hotel), the bus takes you to the hotel to rest. Have dinner at your own expense. After that, guests are free to explore Can Tho city at night.

21:30: The yacht docked, you are free to explore Can Tho city at night. Then, self-sufficient, back to the hotel.

Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh City

Have an early breakfast at the hotel, then head to a wharf to board a motorboat for sightseeing the Cai Rang Floating Market, which is the biggest and most colorful floating market in the Mekong Delta region, where hundreds of boats, ships packed with fruits, vegetables, plants, and foods…line along the river and are ready for trading. 

After the Cai Rang market, continuing cruising through small creeks to a local orchard, enjoying tropical seasonal fruits, visiting a craft village of making hủ tiếu (dry noodle), and a local pagoda. 

At noon, you have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you are free to rest. The group departs to visit Coffee – the filming location of the Purple House in Can Tho (ticket excluded), which is becoming an extremely hot tourist destination in Can Tho with a unique style with only one color, “dark purple”. Then the group said goodbye to Can Tho city and returned to Ho Chi Minh City, finishing the Mekong Delta 2-day tour.

• Comfortable shoes as the tour will involve quite a bit of walking.

Tour Price Excludes:

• Single Supplement: US$ 30/person/single room in 3 stars in the Premier group; US$ 15/person/standard single room in a standard group.

Children Policy:

– Children from 05 to under 10 years old buy 75% of tickets. Sleep with parents. There are seats in the car, the standard of eating as adults.

– Children from 04 years old and under: No ticket, family will take care of their own meals, sit on their parents’ laps. (02 Adults are accompanied by 01 child), From the second child onwards, it is charged at 75% of the price. ticket.

– Children from 10 years old and above buy 01 ticket.

Cancellation policy for fully charged Tours:

• Please note that cancellation fees are calculated based on the date we receive your Cancellation Request via email and travel service start date.
• 100% refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the experience’s start date.
• Cancellations made within 48 hours of the experience start date will receive no refund.
• In most cases, reservations paid by wire transfer, cash deposit, or money order/traveler’s check/cashier’s check will be refunded via PayPal. FOR REFUNDS PROCESSED BY PAYPAL WITH ANY ASSOCIATED FEE WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE OVERALL REFUND AMOUNT.
