Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Vinh Long - Can Tho
7:40 am: Gathering at Viet Dream Travel office - 184 Le Lai, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Free pick up from the hotel’s location on the main street around the backpacker area in Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. 8:00 - 8:15 AM: You will be looking at the rice fields along the road. Go to My Tho; you'll come to the Vinh Trang pagoda, built by Mr. and Mrs. Bui Cong Dat in the 19th century. Vinh Trang Pagoda is an architectural monument ranking third among all types of land temples in the southern part. Then, boarding the sampan and cruising around four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands. Stop over at Unicorn Island, where visitors walk along village paths to contemplate local houses and orchards, and enjoy seasonal tropical fruits and Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - a folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity).
Slowly crossing a workshop where coconut candies are produced, visit the local family business & bee-keeping farm, and enjoy honey tea and coconut candy at the workshop. Before heading to lunch, take a ride on a hand-rowing sampan and cruise through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lunch is served at a local restaurant by the river. The afternoon is time for cycling around the village or relaxing on hammocks to enjoy the cool breeze for those who do not want to join the cycling trip.
Around 15:00, board a motorboat and head back to Vinh Long, depart for Can Tho, and overnight in this city. Dinner will be served on a cruise running along the river.
Around 18:30, the bus takes you to Ninh Kieu wharf. You have a cozy dinner on a luxury yacht to explore Western cuisine on the Can Tho River and listen to Southern amateur music.
21:30: The yacht docked, you are free to explore Can Tho city at night. Then, self-sufficient, back to the hotel.
Day 2: Can Tho - Cai Rang floating market - Ho Chi Minh City
Have an early breakfast at the hotel, then head to a wharf to board a motorboat for sightseeing the Cai Rang Floating Market, which is the biggest and most colorful floating market in the Mekong Delta region, where hundreds of boats, ships packed with fruits, vegetables, plants, and foods...line along the river and are ready for trading.
After the Cai Rang market, continuing cruising through small creeks to a local orchard, enjoying tropical seasonal fruits, visiting a craft village of making hủ tiếu (dry noodle), and a local pagoda. At noon, you have lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you are free to rest. The group departs to visit Coffee - the filming location of the Purple House in Can Tho (ticket excluded), which is becoming an extremely hot tourist destination in Can Tho with a unique style with only one color, "dark purple". Then the group said goodbye to Can Tho and returned to Ho Chi Minh City, finishing the 2-day Mekong Delta tour.
