Hang Cau

The name “Hang Cau” (Vietnamese: Hang Câu) originates from the cliff area, where waves and wind have eroded the rock over time to form natural hollows right along the shoreline. The landscape here is inextricably linked to the geological formation of Ly Son Island. Millions of years ago, volcanic activity created unique rock layers and terrain. Subsequently, the relentless action of waves, wind, and weather continued to reshape the rock surfaces, carving out the unique contours, grooves, and cliffs seen today.

The most striking feature of Hang Cau is the towering cliff face stretching along the coast. Various geological layers, displaying a range of shapes and colors, are visible on the cliff surface. Below lies a sandy beach interspersed with natural rock formations right next to the blue sea.
