Day 01: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Vinh Trang - Can Tho
Around 7:30 AM, pick up from your hotel. You will be looking at the rice fields along the road. Go to My Tho, and come to the Vinh Trang pagoda, which was built by Mr. and Mrs. Bui Cong Dat in the 19th century. Vinh Trang Pagoda is the largest ancient pagoda in Tien Giang province. The pagoda was built in a unique Asian-European architectural style and is famous for its large Buddha statues. Next, you board a boat along the Tien River to visit the fish rafts floating on the river. The boat takes you across Rach Mieu Bridge, a bridge connecting the two provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre. On arrival, Thoi Son islet (also known as Unicorn islet) stops ashore to visit the honey bee farming facility and enjoy fragrant honey tea. Next, you walk and learn about the lives of local people, explore fruit gardens, enjoy seasonal fruits, and listen to Vietnamese traditional music (Đờn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). Then you will experience the feeling of hand-rowing a sampan and cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lunch will be served at the restaurant on Phoenix islet. After that, you have free time to relax in hammocks, cycle around the village, or visit the deep fish farm and enjoy the feeling of "Crocodile Fishing". Around 15:00, board a motorboat and head back to Ben Tre, depart to Can Tho, and overnight at the hotel here.
Day 2: Can Tho - Chau Doc - Tra Su Sanctuary
Have an early breakfast at the hotel/homestay, then head to a wharf to board a motorboat for sightseeing the Cai Rang Floating Market, which is the biggest and most colorful floating market in the Mekong Delta’s region, where hundreds of boats, ships packed with fruits, vegetables, plants, and foods...line along the river and are ready for trading. After the Cai Rang market, we continue cruising through small creeks to a local orchard, where we enjoy tropical seasonal fruits. Break for lunch. Proceed to Chau Doc and continue the tour to visit Tra Su Melaleuca forest. Visitors will be transferred by a rowing boat between duckweed green and enjoy the fresh air and tranquility while exploring the Melaleuca forest tea master, inhabited by many species of waterfowl and rare wildlife. On the way back, stop by to visit Sam Mountain, the Hang (Cave) pagoda (if time permits).
