Cu Chi Tunnels is one of the most famous historical vestiges of Viet Nam’s national liberation war during 1945 – 1975. The first parts of short and simple tunnels were established in 1948 in two communes of in north of Cu Chi District. Compare with Ben Dinh site, the Ben Duoc is a less touristy route in Cu Chi Tunnel.
This site is marvelous to explore due to its narrow and rough underground passageways, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, shooting range, medical care chambers, commanding chambers, meeting chambers, bedrooms, cooking by Hoang Cam stoves

Review of Cu Chi Tunnels

Highlight:

  • Visiting historical site will include American weapons gallery, and a bullet riddled tank, variety of ingenious and rather brutal booby traps used by the Viet Cong.
  • Explore the 1-metre high tunnels, a pretty claustrophobic experience – imagine living down there for a while.
  • A chance to fire real weapons including the Ak47, M1, M16, M30, M60.

The private Cu Chi Tunnels half day to Ben Duoc Temple offer travelers a flexible departure time with free pick up and drop off from city center. Visitors will arrive tunnels after a drive of 1 and a half hour.

Enjoy the scenery along the way, as we pass the lush, endless rice fields and the ducks are water buffaloes swimming in the rivers. You might find it hard to imagine that once the area was almost completely destroyed by bombs and mines from the war, when Cu Chi was a ″free target zone″.

Once we arrive, you will get a chance to walk through some of the tunnels, discover the hidden corners and imagine what life was like here for the resistance soldiers. If you like, try to cook with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers to cook during the war.

Cu Chi Tunnels half day tour by speed boat

You can even try foods which the soldiers lived on. If you’re feeling brave, or curious, you can even try your hand at shooting at AK-47, one of the guns used during the war.
