General information about Lam Dong
Lam Dong borders Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa to the east and north, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City to the south, and Cambodia to the west. After the mergered in 2025, Lam Dong has become a “super province” with the largest area in the country, including the former provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong and Binh Thuan, totaling 24,233 km².
Tourism is one of Lam Dong’s economic spearheads, with prominent destinations being Da Lat, Bao Loc, Phan Thiet, Mui Ne and Gia Nghia.
What’s the best time to visit Lam Dong?
With a terrain stretching from the coast to the Central Highlands, Lam Dong has many different types of climate. The South Central Coast – Central Highlands region, influenced by the tropical monsoon climate that varies with altitude, has two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season is from May to November, the dry season is the remaining months, the average temperature is from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius, the weather is mild and cool all year round.
The coastal terrain of Lam Dong province is mainly low hills and coastal plains. Located in the equatorial tropical monsoon climate zone, this place is sunny, windy and arid, with two distinct rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season is usually from May to October, the dry season is from November to April of the following year. However, in many years the rainy season is only concentrated from August to October.

Lam Dong has enough roads, railways, airways, and waterways, but currently roads and airways play the main role.
Airways
Lien Khuong International Airport is located in Duc Trong commune, next to National Highway 20, about 30 km from Da Lat center. Direct flights from Da Lat to domestic cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang by airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air. Lien Khuong currently welcomes international flights to and from Seoul (South Korea) by Jeju Air.
Roadways
National Highways 1A and 20 cross Lam Dong province, a route with many terrains, including plains, plateaus, including Bao Loc Pass, Mimosa Pass, with an altitude of up to 1,500 m and many bridges. In addition, there are many other national highways passing through the province such as 38, 55 and 27.
Buses to Dat Lat, Bao Loc destinations from Ho Chi Minh City depart from Mien Dong (Eastern) bus station or the offices of bus companies such as Phuong Trang, Thanh Buoi, Kumho. Travel time ranges from 4 to 7 hours. Ticket prices range from 250,000 VND one way. From Da Nang, buses to Lam Dong range from 12 to 15 hours, ticket prices range from 300,000 VND one way.

Bus tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to the neighboring area of old Dak Nong, departing from Mien Dong (Eastern) bus station of bus companies such as Dai Nghia, Duyen Ha, Hoang Long, cost from 150,000 – 200,000 VND per person. Buses departing from Hanoi to Dak Nong cost 800,000 VND (including two meals). Travel time is about 6 hours from Ho Chi Minh City and about 30 hours from Hanoi.
Buses depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne, Phan Thiet include Kumho, Phuong Trang, Minh Nghia, Lien Hung, Manh Hung, Long Van or limousine vans such as Trong Thuy, Hoang Vu, Nam Hai. Ticket prices range from 180,000 VND to 250,000 VND one way.
Railroad
Muong Man Station, Ham Thuan Nam District, is a stop on the North-South railway lines. Trains SE 1-2, SE 3-4, SE 5-6, SE 7-8 or SPT, SNT… all stop at this station. Train fares range from 145,000 VND to 1,500,000 VND one way, depending on the type of train, seat/bed type and departure point.
Accommodation in Lam Dong
The old Lam Dong’s accommodation areas are mainly concentrated in Da Lat and Bao Loc, along with some eco-tourism areas. In Da Lat, there are many accommodation options, from budget motels to famous 5-star resorts. Visitors can choose to stay in the center or on the outskirts, such as Tuyen Lam Lake area. Room rates range from about 200,000 VND per night to 6 million VND per night.
In Bao Loc, there are not many high-end resorts like Da Lat, accommodation areas are usually 3-star or lower, such as small hotels, homestays, motels, located in the city center. Room rates range from about 200,000 VND to 1.5 million VND per night. In Madagui eco-tourism area, or tourist attractions in Lang Biang – Da Lat, homestays are a reasonable choice.
There are many accommodation options in Gia Nghia area. Robin Hotel, Ngoc Thuong, Dak Nong Lodge, Sunrise Hotel are highly rated on booking websites. Prices range from 300,000 to nearly 1.5 million VND per night. Some famous homestays and farmstays in Gia Nghia are Yumin Farm house, Hoa Dat Garden, Ngo Gia Trang; in Dak R’Lap district there is Molly Home; in Dak Mil there is Montagnards Home Farm, prices range from 150,000 to 1 million VND per night.
If you go in a large group, you can stay in Ta Dung tourist area or Phuong Van Farm to feel immersed in nature. Ta Dung lake is a destination considered as “forest in the city” with green space of forests, coffee gardens interspersed with green vegetable gardens, fruit trees.
Hotels in tourist centers such as Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, Phu Quy Island have a variety of accommodation types, from homestays, budget hotels to high-end resorts. Da Lat City
Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong province, located on the Lam Vien plateau at an altitude of 1,500 m above sea level. About 300 km from Ho Chi Minh City and with a cool climate all year round, it is an ideal resort, helping visitors escape the heat of the Southern region.
Da Lat has many destinations and experiences to explore. In the city center, there are the city flower garden, the hydrangea garden in Trai Mat, the lavender garden at Tuyen Lam Lake, Van Thanh flower village, Da Lat market, Xuan Huong lake, the valley of love, Langbiang peak, and the golden valley. Bao Loc is located at an altitude of 900 m above sea level, with many types of terrain, mainly including high mountains, steep hills and valleys. Phan Thiet

This place is famous for its long blue beaches and beautiful sand dunes. Linh Quy Phap An Pagoda
Linh Quy Phap An is a famous pagoda in Lam Dong, located in Bao Lam 3 commune, about 20 km south of Bao Loc center. The pagoda attracts tourists and Buddhists thanks to its peaceful space and beautiful nature. From Da Lat, it takes visitors about 2 hours to travel to the pagoda.
The pagoda is most beautiful on cloudy days. Walking barefoot on the cool courtyard of Quan Chieu Duong – where monks perform ceremonies, visitors will feel like they are lost in a fairyland. The most special area that everyone will probably remember is the grounds and the gate to heaven below the main hall. The gate to heaven is considered a special part that creates a unique mark of the pagoda, designed with an architectural style like the Japanese Torii gate to heaven, very unique and novel. There are 3 gates to heaven arranged in 3 different directions, one in the center, 2 on either side, creating a balance between the landscape and helping this place blend into the vast space between the vast mountains and hills. Therefore, this place is also called “The Pagoda in the Clouds” or “The Gate of Heaven”.
Truc Lam Dao Nguyen Zen Monastery
About 40 km from Gia Nghia center, Truc Lam Dao Nguyen Zen Monastery is the largest Truc Lam Buddhist institution in Dak Nong (currently Lam Dong province). This Zen Monastery is hidden in a vast pine forest, far from residential areas, so it is very quiet, bringing a peaceful atmosphere of meditation, leaning against the Nam Nung mountain range at 1500m high, so the climate is cool all year round. The Zen monastery is a place for Zen students practicing the Truc Lam Zen sect, and Buddhists from near and far often come to study. Due to its beautiful scenery and cool climate, this place attracts many tourists to visit and worship Buddha.
The Zen monastery has a strong traditional cultural beauty, the space is divided into successive functional areas such as the main hall, monk’s hall, bell tower, drum tower, Quan The Am shrine, dining hall, guest house and other auxiliary works. There is also a Dhammapada garden recording the words of Buddha Shakyamuni when he was alive, carved on stone.
Phap Hoa Pagoda
Built in 1957, this is a large and old pagoda in Dak Nong (currently Lam Dong province). The architecture of Phap Hoa Pagoda is in the typical Asian style often seen in Northern Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam, with a 5-storey main hall, monks’ quarters, Quan Am platform, Tam Quan gate, Lumbini garden.
In addition, the Buddha hall is solemnly decorated with Buddha and Bodhisattva statues, creating a nostalgic feeling for visitors. Right in the temple grounds is a large statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and large and small statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Buddha Maitreya, Dharma Protectors… in the area, arranged harmoniously and solemnly.
The pagoda is located on a high hill facing the Southeast, in front of a large valley scene, so the air here is very fresh and airy, helping you feel comfortable and relaxed. Phap Hoa Pagoda is not only a place for spiritual activities of the people of Dak Nong mountain town but also a destination that attracts tourists from inside and outside the province. Located in the center of Gia Nghia ward, the pagoda space is very peaceful.
Nhan Co Church
Nhan Co Church is located in Nhan Co Commune. This is a beautiful church with unique architecture that you can see from afar when crossing National Highway 14.
Nhan Co Church was established in May 2004, initially just a temporary church. In March 2014, the new church was started to be built as it is today.
Nhan Co Church is located on a low hill, with Gothic architecture with a prominent dark blue color. From afar, Nhan Co Church looks like a mysterious castle. Stepping inside, the church becomes even more charming and magical with its beautiful symmetrical architectural lines and decorative details.
Van Thuy Tu
The communal house was built in 1762 by local fishermen to worship Lord Whale as the locals believe the whales are benevolent creatures that protect fisherman from bad weather and the dangers at sea.
The house is displaying and preserving skeletal remains of whales, fishing boats, conical hats, antique bronze bell, terracotta statues, incense-table, and authentic artifacts since the Nguyen Dynasty.
However, the most attractive thing to tourists in Van Thuy Tu is the largest and longest gray whale in Vietnam, which is 22 meters long, well preserved for more than 100 years old.
There is an annual festival takes place on June 20 of the Lunar calendar each year to pray for smooth sailing, good weather, and a good fishing harvest. Van Thuy Tu has been recognized as a national treasure in 1996.

Co Thach Pagoda
Co Thach Pagoda, also known as Hang Pagoda or Da Co Pagoda, is located on the beach of Lien Huong commune, 100 km north of Phan Thiet. The pagoda is located on a mountain slope 64m above sea level. This is a Buddhist architectural complex including a hermitage, temple, and cave built scattered, continuously, and adjacent to the rocky caves in the area of more than 2,000m².
Each cave worships a Buddha; a Bodhisattva or a monk. Inside the cave worshipping the Co Thach Temple establisher – monk Bao Tang, there are many other statues of monks and many ancestral tablets of other people that had contributed to the temple establishment.
The temple was built in the middle of the 19th century. At first, it was just a small temple with wood walls and a leaf roof. After many restorations, the temple is not only larger and more spacious but also recognized as a national monument and scenic spot in 1996.
After visiting the scene of the temple, you can move to Ca Duoc multi-colored rocky expanse that stretches for nearly 1km along the coast. Recently, a new Co Thach tourism village was constructed with many attractive small houses available to both tourists and pilgrims.
St. Nicholas Cathedral, Da Lat
The St. Nicola Cathedral, also known as the familiar name of Con Ga (Chicken) Church, is an ancient Catholic church in Lam Dong. There are five masses every Sunday. It was designed in the style of Roman Catholic churches with a European direction with an overall cross-shape 65m long, 14m wide and reaching the top of the bell tower is 47m hight.
To create a highlight for the church, the architect installed 70 Medieval-style stained glass panels on the wall to illuminate the cathedral’s interior and create an unique aesthetic decoration.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is located in Xuan Truong – Da Lat ward, 8 km from the center of Da Lat, on Highway 20. Completed in 1952, Linh Phuoc pagoda is also know as Ve Chai Pagoda as the 49-metre-long dragon’s head at the entrance gate was meticulously pieced together from 12,000 broken glass bottles and pieces of pottery. In front of Hoa Long Vien is a 36-meter-high tower, hanging the heaviest bell in Vietnam – 8,500 kg in weight.
Beside the bell tower stands an 18-metre-high golden statue of Bodhisattva, which is decorated with over 600,000 flowers. In addition, this place also has a display house for gems, ancient porcelain and fine art wood.
In addition to admiring the unique architecture, tourists and Buddhists also have the opportunity to learn about the 18 levels of hell. Going through these 18 levels of hell, people will experience many things in life about the philosophy of good and good, how to treat people, how to live kindly.
Truc Lam Zen Monastery
The Monastery located on Phung Hoang Mountain, next to Tuyen Lam Lake, about 7 km from Da Lat. The monastery has an area of 24 hectares founded on April 8,1993, and completed on February 8, 1994. This is considered to be the largest monastery in the country both in terms of space and the size of the gathering. In the main hall only worship Buddha Shakyamuni holding lotus branches.
Right outside is a majestic tower inside hanging a large bell 1.98 m high and weighs 1.1 tons above engraved with poems by “Truc Lam Dau Da”. Truc Lam Zen Monastery does not only has an ancient and magnificent beauty like other temples but also hides many mysteries of the spiritual world.
Domaine de Marie, Da Lat
The Domaine de Marie Church, also known as Vinh Son church, is an architectural cluster consisting of a chapel and two rows of Bac Ai Thanh Vinh Son monastery with a total area of 12 hectares. The church is located atop a hill in Da Lat. It is built in a style reminiscent of 17th Century French architecture. However, this church has it special and different from the classical churches of Europe.
The roofs of the church have their origin from the design of Nha Rong – a typical style of stilt house in Central Highlands of Vietnam. Another example of the interaction is the 3m-high-statue of Mary, created by a French architect, but resembles the image of a Vietnamese woman. In general, the two competing styles has creates an absolutely creative and intrigue complex.

Linh An Pagoda
Linh An Pagoda is a sacred pagoda located in the middle of the majestic mountains and forests of Da Lat. With traditional architecture and a typical peaceful, quiet space, this place attracts tourists from all over to seek purity and peace of mind. Linh An Pagoda is located on Ta Nung Pass, about 30km from Da Lat center. Coming here, you will be overwhelmed by the main hall, which is 1,400 square meters wide. Inside, there are many large and beautiful Buddha statues and Guanyin statues. In addition, Linh An Pagoda also has a notable architectural work, the most prominent one at Linh An Pagoda in Da Lat and the 70m high statue of Avalokiteśvara – one of the tallest statues in Vietnam; The special Tinh Thanh garden, which contains nearly 500 white statues of Avalokiteshvara, of the same shape, about 3 meters high, Maitreya Buddha statue was built with a height of 12.5 meters, a width of 6.5 meters and a surface of horizontal up to 9m.

Unique architectures
Tran Le Xuan Palace
Tran Le Xuan Palace is a complex of three villas, built in French architectural style, located at 2 Yet Kieu Street, Cam Ly – Da Lat ward. During the First Republic of Vietnam, this building was the resting place of the families of Tran Le Xuan and Ngo Dinh Nhu. After Ngo Dinh Nhu and his brother, President Ngo Dinh Diem, were assassinated and Tran Le Xuan lived in exile, this project became a tourist destination.
Tran Le Xuan Palace includes three villas:
- Bach Ngoc Villa: entertainment place of Tran Le Xuan’s family and high-ranking officers during the First Republic period.
- Hong Ngoc Villa: Tran Le Xuan built a plan for his father, Mr. Tran Van Chuong.
- Lam Ngoc Villa: Tran Le Xuan’s family’s weekend getaway.
The entire villa area is over 13,000 square meters. Bach Ngoc Villa is equipped with a heated swimming pool. Behind the Lam Ngoc villa is a Japanese flower garden. Lam Ngoc Villa also has an escape tunnel and shelter.
Hang Nga Villa
Hang Nga Villa or Crazy House (known in English as: Crazy House) is a guesthouse in Da Lat, located at 3 Huynh Thuc Khang, Xuan Huong – Da Lat ward on a campus of nearly 2,000 m². This house is famous for its special architectural style.
Hang Nga Villa includes many buildings and guest houses, cafes and art galleries with a distinctive style. The building’s interior includes caves, winding hallways, winding staircases, quirky furniture and large animal statues. There are no straight lines and straight angles, and everything appears as if it has been melted at high temperatures and then frozen in a grotesque shape.
Between the buildings are tree stumps, gnarled tree roots made of concrete and giant spider webs made of wire. There is a small tea room inside a large Giraffe statue. The rooms are named Gourd, Kangaroo, bear, bee,… Rooms can be booked for regular overnight stays. Currently, each year “Crazy House” welcomes about 100,000 visitors, most of whom are foreigners.
Bao Dai Summer Palace
This is the Third Mansion of Bao Dai Emperor that served as the summer palace for him. Bao Dai Palace is a two-story mansion situated on a hill in the Love Forest. It has front and back flower gardens. It was built from 1933 to 1938. The ground floor was reserved as the Emperor’s working space, while the upstairs was the living space of the whole royal family. The latter comprises a library, entertainment room, and large dining room.
In addition, the palace also contains valuable and well-preserved artifacts that were left behind, including Hue royal antiquities, a large white bust of Bao Dai himself, and an engraved glass map of Vietnam.

Da Lat railway station
It is an attractive tourist attraction, containing many cultural values of Lam Dong in general and the local people in particular. The railway station was designed in 1932 by the French and opened in 1938. Largely unused during Vietnam War, the line was gradually dismantled after the North Vietnamese victory in 1975.
However, it was returned to a limited level of service in the 1990s. Up to now, a 7 km section of the line between Da Lat Railway Station and the nearby village of Trai Mat was restored and returned to active use as a tourist attraction.

Clay tunnel
Clay tunnel, also known as Da Lat sculpture tunnel, is one of the largest underground sculpture works in the world. This place has become an attractive tourist destination in Da Lat for domestic and foreign tourists to visit and check in. The tunnel has a total length of more than 2km.
The space and context of the tunnel are designed according to two main themes: history of the formation of Da Lat City and educational humanistic cultural story. Many famous architectures of Da Lat have been recreated such as: Linh Son Pagoda, Chicken church, Da Lat railway station, Da Lat market, two strange Basalt red soil houses… all are sculpted with clay.

Nature & Wildlife areas
Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park
The National Park is located in the center of Lam Vien Plateau, in Lac Duong commune, 35 km from Da Lat city. It is known as the “Roof of the Central Highlands”. The name of the park is a combination of the two highest peaks of Lam Vien Plateau, Bidoup (2,287 m) and Nui Ba (2,167 m). This is one of the largest national parks in Vietnam. In 2015, the park was part of the Langbiang Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO.
Tourists coming to Bidoup – Nui Ba often trek long distances and camp in the forest to enjoy nature. In addition, there are also eco-tours, 2-3 km walking tours on biodiversity routes, watching birds, finding frogs and taking photos.
Ke Ga Cape and Ke Ga lighthouse
Ke Ga Cape is also known as Khe Ga cape in Tan Thanh commune. Ke Ga is a collection of uniquely shaped rocks arranged in the shape of a chicken’s head. This is a cape jutting out of the East Sea about 40 km southwest of Phan Thiet.
Ke Ga Cape is actually a small island about 500 meters from the mainland, customarily called Ba islet. At high tide, Ke Ga is isolated as an island which is surrounded by a blue sea. But when the tides recede, a strip of sand will reveal connecting Ke Ga cape to the mainland.
The cape has a lighthouse which has been confirmed by the center of the Vietnamese record book as the tallest and oldest lighthouse in Vietnam. According to maritime history in this area, Khe Ga Cape is considered an extremely dangerous position of the sea from Phan Rang to Vung Tau.
From the previous centuries, there were many merchant boats passing through this place and were sunk due to the unidentifiable coordinates and direction.
Hence, within 2 years (1897-1899), the French had surveyed to build the lighthouse aiming to support their military transportation and foreign merchant ships. Inside the lighthouse, there are 183 spiraling steel steps leading to the top of the lighthouse. And there was a big 2,000W light visible for 22 nautical miles (approximately 40 kilometers).
Not only does it have a rock garden, Ke Ga also has pristine beaches with clear blue water. The best time to explore this place is around 17pm because this is the sunset time so the scenery is very beautiful. Canoes to pick up and drop off guests will also stop operating after this time. Visitors to Ke Ga Cape only visit during the day, staying at budget hotels and motels in Tan Thanh commune.
Ta Cu Mountain
Ta Cu Mountain is located along National Highway 1A in Ham Thuan Nam commune, 28km south of Phan Thiet. This is a climbing site with a peak of 649m to the sea surface. The scene here is pristine, marvelous with identical mountains.
There are two ways to go up Ta Cu Mountain: spend more than 2 hours hiking through the verdant rainforest or take a 15-minute cable-car ride to reach the top.
Set atop Ta Cu Mountain is Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda at an altitude of over 400m, features several towers, Buddhist statues, and caves amidst ancient green trees.
The main attraction is a 49m long and 7m high statue of a reclining Buddha, one of the most unique and biggest statues in Southeast Asia. It was made from reinforced concrete and covered with white lime on a stone base, leaning on the mountain.
The statue was begun in 1963, is finally completed after 4 years later, and has become a favorite hotspot for tourists and Buddhist pilgrims.
Ta Dung National Park
Ta Dung National Park is located in Ta Dung commune, about 45 km southeast of Gia Nghia center along National Highway 28. The center of the park is Ta Dung lake. Hydroelectric damming activities have created a high-altitude lake with an area of about 22,000 hectares with more than 40 large and small islands and peninsulas. This is a destination not to be missed in old Dak Nong (currently Lam Dong province).
Coming to Ta Dung, you will take a boat, enjoy the scenery of the islands appearing in the middle of the lake, breathe the fresh air, explore the mountain scenery, and wild nature. In addition, there are also granite waterfalls and dozens of rare species of flora and fauna.
Bau Trang (White lake)
Bau Trang is the name of a freshwater lake about 35km from Mui Ne in Hoa Thang commune. Bau Trang is divided into 2 parts by a crossing sandhill. The local people called the small one Bau Ong (Male lake) and the other Bau Ba (Female lake).
Bau Ba is also known as Bau Sen (Lotus Lake) as the lotus are covering the whole lake. Lotus is planted by residents for the purpose of harvesting seeds. However, the lotus cultivation in this area makes the landscape more unique. Bau Trang is still an unspoiled, very worthwhile tourist destination when traveling to Mui Ne. The best time to explore Bau Trang is early in the morning when you will not only have a chance to hunt for great photos but also admire the wonderful scenery.
Mountain Langbiang
The mountain is listed as “the roof of Da Lat”. The mountain is 2,169m above sea level. At the foot of Langbiang Mountain is a tourist area with beautiful rustic architecture and full amenities for the leisure of tourists. The Langbiang is attracting visitors by exciting adventure: climbing, and conquering the peak. It takes around 4 hours to reach the top of the mountain.
Another way to reach the top is by renting a jeep car. Standing on the top of the mountain you can enjoy a panoramic view of the foggy city in the distance.

Famous beaches and islands
Phu Quy Island
Phu Quy island, also known as Thu island, is located about 120 km southeast of Phan Thiet center. In addition to the main island, there are many small islands around Phu Quy. On the big island there are many beautiful landscapes, most of which are still wild, for tourists to explore in a few days. Notable attractions: Bai Nho, Ganh Hang, Cao Cat peak, Trieu Duong bay, lighthouse…
The best time to visit Phu Quy island is from December to June of the following year. This is the period when the sea is calm, the wind is light, and it is easy to move on the sea. To get to Phu Quy island, you must take a boat, which takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the type of boat. Currently, the island has a full range of accommodation, dining, and entertainment services to meet the needs of tourists.
Co Thach beach
Co Thach is a beach in Lien Huong commune, 90 km from Phan Thiet city and 300 km from Ho Chi Minh city.
On the beach, there are still many shimmering, rustic rocks of many colors, large and small, stacked on top of each other naturally and formed from ancient times (also called Ca Duoc and affectionately called by tourists as the seven-color rock beach).
Usually, mid-March is when the moss is at its heaviest, combined with natural sunlight to create a picturesque landscape. Surrounding this rock beach is a smooth golden sand beach called Bai Tien.
Cau islet
Cau islet belongs to Lien Huong commune, located about 10 km from the mainland. The island is not known to many people so it is still quite wild, has no residents and does not have many services for tourism. Visitors can visit this place during the day or stay overnight but must register in advance or buy a tour.
Transportation, daily necessities and fresh water here are limited. Cau islet is currently one of the natural marine life reserves, also an ideal place for diving enthusiasts.
Waterfalls
Lieng Nung Waterfall
Lieng Nung Waterfall is located in Dong Gia Nghia Commune, about 9 km from Gia Nghia center in the direction of National Highway 28. The waterfall has a special structure, a 35 m high cliff on a large cave arch protruding where the water flows into Dak Nia Stream.
The ceiling of the cave arch is made of hexagonal rocks arranged next to each other. The cave arch has vibrant vegetation, creating a magical space. Surrounding the waterfall is a wild natural landscape with primeval forests.
Trinh Nu Waterfall
Trinh Nu Waterfall is about 3 km from Cu Jut commune, not as noisy and majestic as other waterfalls around the Serepok River basin. The waterfall is nestled, flowing gently, weaving between large basalt slabs with a geological age of 2-5 million years.
Pongour waterfall
Pongour waterfall located in, Duc Trong commune, 50km from Da Lat, also known as Thien Thai waterfall. Pongour has a 7-story waterfall with the huge rocky chasm, wide, full of green moss, terraced falls and surrounded by a primeval forest with an area of about 2.5 hectares with diverse and rich vegetation, animals living. Tourists from all over often come here to visit, take pictures, and have fun.
The waterfall is also a popular picnic spot in the late afternoons, so if you want to experience the falls without too many tourists, try to visit during the middle of the day. Coming here on the full moon day of the first lunar month, you will also have the opportunity to participate in the unique Pongour festival of the K’Ho people.
Dak G’lun Waterfall
Dak G’lun Waterfall is located in Tuy Duc Commune, about 50 km from Gia Nghia City. The waterfall is nearly 60 m high, surrounded by more than 1,000 hectares of special-use forest with a rich ecosystem, many ancient trees with large, green canopies. Right next to the waterfall, there are large, flat areas for you to camp overnight.
Dambri waterfall
Dambri waterfall is one of the highest and the most magnificent waterfall in Vietnam, located about 20km from Bao Loc. This is an impressive waterfall with clear, cold water runs off the mountains and spills over a rocky escarpment, falling 70 metres into a large pool before continuing to pour down the valley.
Furthermore, surrounding the waterfall is a primeval forest with hundred kinds of plants, Dambri waterfall, Dasara fall, Daton fall, a fossil plant cave, an animal zoo.
Datanla Waterfall
Datanla Waterfall is situated in the middle of the Prenn mountain pass, approximately 5 km from Da Lat. This is the most touristy and developed of all the falls in Lam Dong. It has an excellent pathways, through lush foliage, leading down through many ‘levels’ of the falls. The cascading waterfalls to the ground before disappearing through layers of marble scattered in the small stream.
Datanla Waterfall represents the wild and majestic beauty of the Central Highlands mountains and forests. This place is an ideal stop for those who love to explore, and adventure sports. Datanla waterfall tourist area offers visitors many exciting fun activities such as climbing stone steps to conquer the top of the waterfall, a roller-coaster, cable car and go along the stream to come to Prenn bridge or exciting whitewater rafting.
Cam Ly waterfall
Cam Ly waterfall is the closest waterfall to the center of Da Lat. The entrance is located between 57 – 59 Hoang Van Thu Street. The stream of the waterfall is about 10m high, although not high, but the water flow is strong and not less gentle, especially during the rainy season. The waterfall flows gently through boulders and it looks like the hairstyle of a girl.
The waterfall is surrounded by green pine forest, many kinds of flowers and trees that always green all year round. Beside Xuan Huong lake or Langbiang mountain, the waterfall has become the indispensable symbols of Da Lat and has been mentioning in many poems and songs.
Prenn Waterfall
Prenn waterfall is located at the foot of Prenn Pass which is 10 km far from Da Lat city. It is also the gateway of Da Lat. From its 9m of height, the water flows down over a cliff of basalt rock creating a majestic natural beauty. The tourist area is also a pine forest and primitive trees that make up 90% of the area. The tourist site has been equipped with the cable – car, suspension bridge, stilt – house, showroom, souvenir shop, restaurant. Futhermore, tourist can participate many folk games and interesting activities including elephant and ostrich rides. There is also a small zoo – a home of elephants, tigers, bears, deer, monkeys, python, peafowl, etc. In 2000, Prenn waterfall has been recognized by The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and granted a national historic and cultural relic.
Elephant Waterfall
Elephant Waterfall is also known as Lieng Rowoa waterfall, located approximately 25 km southwest of Da Lat with a height of about 30 meters and a width of 15 meters. Elephant waterfall is the most dramatic in the province. Unlike most of Lam Dong’s other waterfalls, Elephant waterfall does still keep it nature without any manmade.
Over the years, the water has eroded the escarpment to create a cave-like overhang, from where you can get up close, literally, under the falls, while staying (relatively) dry. Behind the waterfall, there are mysterious caves such as Hang Doi (Bat cave), located at a depth of 50m above the ground with an entrance has many tree roots and vines crisscrossing each other, Hang Gio (Wind cave) always create a highlight for visitors who want to explore.
Jraiblian Waterfall
Hidden in the serene mountains of Ta In forests is a majestic Jraiblian Waterfall. The Jraiblian Waterfall is located in Ta Hine commune, outskirt of Dalat city. It was also called Bao Dai, Vietnam’s last emperor (1913-1997), waterfall as it was the resting place of numerous hunting trips of the emperor. At around 80 metres high and over 100 metres wide, this is also the biggest and most spectacular fall in Lam Dong.
The massive volume of water straight from the top of the vertical wall of volcanic rock to the bottom stream, making it a raw scene and quite overwhelming sensation of nature. Jraiblian waterfall is definitely an ideal destination for those who want to enjoy pure nature.
Beautiful lakes
Xuan Huong Lake
Xuan Huong lake is a symbol of Da Lat located in the city center which has a crescent shape. This is an artificial lake with approximately 5km circumference, and 25 ha wide. The lake has long been famous for immerse pine forests, green lawns, wonderful flower gardens. The surface of the lake is smooth and crystal, reflecting the charming scenery of Dalat city with pine forest. With the romantic views, Xuan Huong Lake has been reputed to be a romantic place, a dreaming tourist attraction and a dating rendezvous of loving couples as well.
It is also a favorite rendezvous for tourists who love walking,using stagecoach, double bikes, duck riding… to visit and explore the lake and surrounding area.
Da Nhim Lake
Da Nhim lake also known as Don Duong Lake, located in D’ran commune, Lam Dong province. It is 36 km far from Dalat city to the South – East. All view Da Nhim lake is the great combination of mountain, lake and cloud which create a great scenery for the province, attract many tourists.
Coming to visit natural beauty of Da Nhim lake, tourist also have the opportunity to learn about the Da Nhim hydropower plant was built right on the lake, built from 1962 to 1964.
Nearby is another tourist attraction: the Ngoan Muc Pass – one of the largest passes in Vietnam. Tourists can go hiking, horseback riding, jeep driving along the red dirt road lead to the Valley of Love. It’s also an ideal place for camping with your family members and friends.
Tuyen Lam Lake
Tuyen Lam Lake is known as a tourist resort with the most resorts. This is the largest freshwater lake in Lam Dong with an area of 350 hectares.
Tuyen Lam is an ideal spot for picnic or camping by the lake to enjoy the cold air nearby Da Lat. Dankia Lake
Situated about 20km from Da Lat city center to the northwest, Dankia Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes with the capacity of about 20 million cubic of water. The lake has long been supplying fresh water and electricity to Da Lat city, particularly through Ankoret plant, the first hydroelectric plant built in Vietnam (1943).
The Dankia lake impresses tourist with marvelous scenery of high mountains, pine forests and pure water flows bending around romantic hills, creating a wonderful painting before the eyes of visitors. Coming to Dankia- Suoi Vang area, visitors will be attracted by the natural beauty of Golden Valley, Ankroet waterfall and Suoi Vang Dam. Than Tho Lake

Dray Sap Tourist Area
Dray Sap – Gia Long Cultural Eco-Tourism Area (Dray Sap Tourist Area) is located in Nam Da Commune, about 110 km from Gia Nghia.
The characteristic of this tourist area is that it is located in a special-use forest with many famous rapids and waterfalls (Dray Sap Waterfall, Gia Long Waterfall or also known as Upper Dray Sap Waterfall, Trinh Nu Waterfall, Dray Nu Waterfall). Accommodation services are diverse, from Ede longhouses to semi-detached houses, especially the mushroom house system with thatched roofs, creating a feeling of closeness and coziness.

Museums
Traditional musical instrument exhibition
Located in N’Jrieng village, Dong Gia Nghia commune, more than 9 km from Gia Nghia center on National Highway 28 towards Da Lat, Lam Dong.
Coming here, you will discover about 60 musical instruments of ethnic groups around the world. Each instrument has its own sound and most are made from some types of stone and animal bones. Among those nearly 60 ancient musical instruments is the Dak Kar lithophone of the M’Nong people, which is nearly 3,000 years old. This is the “soul” musical instrument of the exhibition house.
According to the M’Nong people’s concept, lithophone is a thread connecting people and the spiritual world, closely linked to the cultural and spiritual life of the indigenous people of Dak Nong. The Dak Kar lithophone was also chosen as one of the symbols of the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.
Duc Thanh School
Duc Thanh is name of a school founded by patriotic scholars in Phan Thiet, in 1907 in response to the Modernisation Movement led by Phan Chau Trinh, Tran Quy Cap, and Huynh Thuc Khang. Duc Thanh school is a pride of local residents since Nguyen Tat Thanh (later President Ho Chi Minh) had stopped and taught for a while before going abroad in 1911.
The main structure of the school consists of 2 large wooden houses used as classrooms, a small house – is a place for reading books, discussing, meeting, and the boarding house where he and his pupils lived.
Until now, the school still has many precious objects that closely attached to teacher Nguyen Tat Thanh, such as desk, ink slab, sofa, carambola tree which Thanh cared for in his free time, and a brick-well nearby.
In 2014, Vietnam Record Association recognized Duc Thanh school to be one of the top ten historical vestiges sites in commemoration of Nguyen Tat Thanh that attract the largest number of tourists.

Dak R’Mang Market
For a long time, Dak R’Mang market in Dak Nong has always been a familiar meeting place for the Mong ethnic people living here, every Sunday. This is also one of the unique markets in the Central Highlands, clearly showing the cultural life of the Mong people living here. Explore Dak R’Mang market, visitors will experience and discover interesting things about the culture, cuisine and life of the Mong people, along with countless interesting activities that can only be found here.
The market opens only 1 time in a week, selling all kinds of goods, from brocade, household items, medicinal herbs, production tools to specialties such as corn wine.
Dalat Night Market
Dalat Night Market, also known by the curious name “Ghost Market”, is a destination not to be missed when visiting the “city of flowers”. Initially, the market was just a place where people stopped by for dinner and a rest after a day of work. Later, this place gradually became an indispensable tourist destination every night. From 17 pm, the stalls began to set up. From around 19 pm onwards, the market entered its busiest time, lasting until late at night.
When mentioning Dalat Night Market, you cannot miss the bustling rows of stalls selling everything from clothes, agricultural products, fruits to handicrafts and souvenirs. This is a place where you can both shop for yourself and easily choose specialties of Dalat to bring back as gifts.
Historical and cultural relics
Hill 722 – Dak Sak
Hill 722 – Dak Sak historical site is 722m above sea level, nearly 4ha wide, located in village 4, Tho Hoang, Dak Sak commune. This place marks the historical milestones in the resistance war against the US of the people of old Dak Nong province (Lam Dong province now) with many fierce battles. Currently, some relics, military uniforms, military equipment such as shoes, hats, bullet shells… are still preserved and preserved at the Hill 722 relic site. On October 24, 2012, the Hill 722 relic site – Dak Sak was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national historical relic. If you have time, you should also visit Yok Don National Park. Part of the park is located in Dak Nong province, south of the Serepok River, but the main gate is in Buon Don, Dak Lak province. Visitors can experience trekking, admire the beautiful natural scenery, especially the majestic Bay Nhanh waterfall and rich flora and fauna ecosystem. Ancient village of the Ede people
About 90 km from Gia Nghia center in the direction of Dak Lak, Buon Buor village, Cu Jut commune was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the oldest village of the Ede people in the Central Highlands in 2008.
Buon Buor village is located along the Serepok river. Over the centuries, people have maintained long-standing customs such as brewing rice wine, making traditional musical instruments or weaving daily necessities from bamboo and weaving brocade. You will admire the beauty of traditional stilt houses; meticulously hand-woven brocade products represent the culture of the Ede people; join in the gong dance. You can also attend ancient rituals such as housewarming ceremony, Kpan procession, new rice celebration, brotherhood.
Poshanu Tower
Poshanu Tower or Po Sah Inu, also known as Pho Hai Cham Towner, is a group of the tower remains of the ancient Cham Kingdom, located on Ba Nai hill, Phu Thuy ward, 7km away from the center of Phan Thiet center and about 13km from the center of Mui Ne town. It was built more than 1,200 years ago with the aim of worshiping the Shiva – is one of the revered Hindu deities. However, there are only three towers remaining (main tower, medium tower, and small tower).
This tower was built follow Hoa Lai architectural style – one of the ancient art styles of the Cham Kingdom.
Although it is only a small towner, it contained the quintessence of architectural techniques and decorative arts of the ancient Cham, creating majesty and mystery. In 1991, this relic was ranked as a national architectural monument by Vietnam Government.
Po Dam Tower (Po Tam)
Po Dam or Po Tam is the name of a group of Cham towers in Lac Tri village, Lien Huong commune. This tower was built to worship King Po Dam, also known as Po Kathit (Pan La Tra Duyen) of the Cham people. The time to build the tower is unknown, but through a comparison of art styles, archaeologists only temporarily identified Po Dam tower of the same age as Hoa Lai style towers (old Ninh Thuan province, currently Khanh Hoa province), possibly at the end 8th century and the 9th century. However, when comparing with the history of Champa, the reign of Po Dam is 1433-1460.
Following the legend of Cham people, there was a challenge of King Klong Garai and Po Dam (who was then the mandarin) who built the tower first, and Po Klong Garai won. The construction techniques and architectural arts are similar to the Poshanu Tower, all of them belong to Hoa Lai art and architectural style. Po Dam Tower was annual ritual and worshiped area for the King of Cham people. Po Dam Tower was ranked by the State as a National-level architectural monument in 1996.
Cuisine – Specialties of Lam Dong
Traditional dishes of the indigenous people are very diverse, always combining many types of ingredients, showing community solidarity. Most dishes are prepared by boiling or grilling, making soup, with bitter, spicy flavors and colors that are full of natural harmony.
Chicken hotpot with lemon basil leaves
Lemon basil leaves are also known as hoary basil, Thai lemon basil, or Lao basil, with a stronger smell than purple perilla, and are often grown in sandy soils in the Central region. People use perilla leaves to prepare many dishes, including chicken hotpot. Currently, chicken hotpot with lemon basil leaves is popular everywhere and the “holy land” is Da Lat.
The dish has a sweet and clear broth, chewy and fragrant chicken, served with mushrooms and bamboo shoots that are infused with flavor. Chicken hotpot with perilla leaves is a dish not to be missed when visiting Da Lat.
Grilled rice paper
Also known as Vietnamese pizza, grilled rice paper was born in Da Lat, a famous snack that most tourists want to try. As the name suggests, a rice paper is placed on a charcoal stove, covered with sausage, pork floss, eggs, vegetables, sauces and chili sauce on top and then grilled. When the cake is cooked, fold it and enjoy.
Bamboo steam rice & grilled meat
Bamboo steam rice is a favorite dish and is always present in festivals and entertainment of the local people. The main ingredient is sticky rice. After soaking, the rice is put into bamboo tubes, and boiled with stream water. The bamboo tubes containing sticky rice are burned on fire or buried in charcoal. When the rice is cooked, people split the burnt outer layer, revealing the white core.
Bamboo steam rice is accompanied by grilled meat, also from livestock and poultry, but is often prepared in a very unique way. Most of the ingredients are not marinated, skewered and grilled over charcoal or put in bamboo tubes and grilled. This method of preparation takes less time and is convenient for going to the forest, going to the fields… When eating, people often dip it in salt and chili.
Grilled catfish from the Serepok River
The Serepok River flows through old Dak Nong (currently Lam Dong province) and has many types of catfish, the most popular being red-tailed catfish.
Catfish can be made into many dishes such as grilled, braised, made into patties, steamed, stir-fried with garlic or cooked into porridge. Among them, grilled catfish over hot coals is an attractive dish. The fish is wrapped in forest leaves before being grilled, dipped in salt made from lemongrass, green chili and forest leaves. Grilled catfish eaten with bamboo rice brings a rich and characteristic flavor of old Dak Nong cuisine. This is one of the Top 100 Vietnamese specialties in 2020 and 2021.
Fish Hotpot
The main ingredient of the dish is fresh fish, usually anchovies, scads or mackerel. After being deboned, the fish is blanched in boiling water and washed with lemon juice to remove the fishy smell, then marinated with spices and arranged on a plate. In addition to fresh fish, other ingredients include fried eggs, boiled meat, raw vegetables, mango and cucumber. All are cut into strips and placed on banana flower petals, spread evenly around the fish plate, creating a flower shape. Next to the tray of ingredients are vermicelli and hot broth.
There are two ways to enjoy hot pot. First, diners eat the fish without dipping it in the broth, just pour in peanut fish sauce, add grilled rice paper and mix well. The second way is for those who want to eat it cooked. Blanch the fish, scoop the boiling broth into a bowl, add other ingredients and enjoy.
Moon crab
This is a must-try dish on Phu Quy island and the coastal areas of Tuy Phong district. The moon crab has many dark red circles on its back, mixed with bright pink. In the past, moon crabs were quite abundant, but natural crabs are becoming increasingly rare, so if you want to buy them, you have to order in advance.
The crab meat is sweet, chewy and fragrant, the crab shell is crispy, soft, and can be bitten with your teeth. The crab is most delicious during the full moon.
