Discover the Southeast Vietnam Highlights Tour on a 5-day journey from Ho Chi Minh City – Mui Ne – My Tho – Cu Chi. This tour takes you to experience the beautiful blue sea and unique sand dunes of Mui Ne, explore the riverine culture of the Mekong Delta in My Tho with its islets and distinctive fruit orchards, and learn about the heroic history of the Cu Chi Tunnels. The program harmoniously combines relaxation, sightseeing, and cultural experiences, perfect for travelers who want to discover the most distinctive features of Southern Vietnam.
Day 1: Tan Son Nhat Airport - Mui Ne
Upon arrival at the airport, our tour guide and driver will meet you and transfer you to Mui Ne. Overnight in this town.
Day 2: Mui Ne - Fishing Village - Sand Dunes (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, start your sightseeing with a visit to a fishing village and the White and Red Sand Dunes, Mui Ne's top attractions. Some activities to enjoy include Quad Biking, sliding down sand dunes to explore the area, and more opportunities to capture the scene and snap a picture.
Then, the tour guide will take you to Fairy Stream, the Cham Poshanu Towers, and Phan Thiet Market.
Lunch is served at the local restaurant. Stay overnight in Mui Ne.
Day 3: Mui Ne - Ho Chi Minh (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel before starting your trip to visit Ta Cu Mountain, a big Buddha, 59 meters long, a reclining Buddha in the middle of the jungle. You will have an interesting overview of the beautiful landscape from the cable car to the top of the mountain, amazing views, and funny-looking roofs on the pagodas from the late 19th century.
After lunch at the local restaurant, transfer to Ho Chi Minh City and spend the night there.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - My Tho - Vinh Long (B/L)
After breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda in My Tho. The Vinh Trang Pagoda’s style is an elegant blend of West and East; it’s truly a sight to behold.
Next, tourists will travel across the 30/4 Tien River by motorboat, overlooking floating houses where fish are farmed beneath the houses, and watching the Rach Mieu Bridge.
To Thoi Son Islet (Unicorn Islet), visitors walk on village streets, visiting people’s houses and orchards, enjoying the seasonal fruits while listening to Vietnamese traditional music (Don Ca Tai Tu – A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). Also, you have a chance to see women making coconut candy – something Ben Tre is famous for.
Afterward, take an amazing rowing-boat trip along the islet's small creeks, shaded by tall coconut trees, to a local restaurant, then enjoy special Vietnamese dishes (vegetarian options are available).
After lunch, visitors can take a bike tour around the village, immerse themselves in the lives of local people, and enjoy the beauty of the coconut land before heading back to Ho Chi Minh.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel before the tour guide takes you to visit Cu Chi - a legendary historical tunnel. This is a unique and incomparable underground village that was extensively used for food and ammunition storage caches, medical care chambers, commanding chambers, meeting chambers, bedrooms, and cooking using Hoang Cam stoves…. You can try delicious manioc, which was the main food for guerrilla-warriors in Cu Chi during the war. Also, there is a chance for shooting with an AK47, MK16 or machine guns at the nearby shooting range.
Leave the Cu Chi tunnels; lunch is served at a local restaurant before returning to Sai Gon around 15 pm. End the Southeast Vietnam Highlights Tour.
