Forestry and Fishery Field 184 is located in the middle of Nam Can mangrove forest in Cha La hamlet, Tam Giang commune, Nam Can district, Ca Mau province. This is a conservation area which has an area of 252 hectares, including a strict conservation area and a buffer zone. This is a forest with the characteristics of the Ca Mau mangrove ecosystem, which is being developed to become a leading eco-tourism area in the Southwest region.

The biodiversity conservation area has 44 plant species, of which 32 are typical of the mangrove ecosystem, dominated by mangrove trees over 20 years old. In particular, there are some rare species; 6 species of birds, 5 species of mammals, 2 species of reptiles, 2 species of amphibians.
The flora and fauna are preserved to serve research, study, sightseeing, and tourism. Under the forest canopy, the animals are very rich with the presence of many groups of monkeys, langurs, squirrels, weasels, otters, etc.
In the middle of the forest there is a bird trough, where many species of birds come to live and breed. The most typical are storks and herons, up to thousands of individuals, along with many other species such as water-shakers, high-snails, and larger birds such as painted stork and lesser adjutant also come here to build nests.
This place is also a favorable environment for many species of reptiles such as snakes, monitor lizards, etc., amphibians, crustaceans, and mollusks to breed and develop.
