Da Lat’s beautiful scenic spots
Cam Ly Waterfall is located next to the Cam Le stream, which flows from Xuan Huong Lake and the Cam Ly stream. Cam Ly is one of the waterfalls said to commemorate, express gratitude, and show respect to those who contributed to the area during that period.

Legend has it that the name Cam Ly Waterfall originates in the K’Ho language. The people of the Lach (Lat) tribe called Cam Ly Waterfall Lieng To Sra – the boundary between the Cam Le stream and the Da Dodong River. The villagers named the waterfall after K’Mly, the tribal chief at the time, to commemorate him and express their gratitude. This chief cared for the entire tribe, lived harmoniously with the people, and ensured their well-being and prosperity. Therefore, the waterfall was named after K’Mly, later pronounced “Cam Ly”. According to its Sino-Vietnamese origin, Cam Ly means a stream with sweet water (Cam means sweet, Ly means permeate).

Cam Ly Waterfall is a familiar tourist destination for many visitors. The scenery includes mountains, forests, and the gentle sound of cascading waterfalls, all harmonizing with the melodious chirping of birds. There are also many picturesque photo spots. Cam Ly Waterfall is nestled in a pine forest, so you can faintly smell the scent of pine trees in the breeze.

This poetic scenery of Cam Ly has inspired many poets, writers, and musicians. Because of its gentle, poetic charm, Cam Ly Waterfall is also an ideal location for wedding or commemorative photos.
During the dry season (December to April), the water level at Cam Ly Waterfall recedes, revealing unusual rock formations. During the rainy season, the water in Cam Ly Waterfall in Da Lat replenishes, becoming cool and refreshing. Tourists will be able to admire the streams of water cascading down in large, white ribbons, like silken threads.

In 1998, the Cam Ly Waterfall was designated a National Historical and Cultural Monument.
