Valley of Love is the most romantic scenic spot in Da Lat (Lam Dong province). It has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations in this dreamy city.

Overview of Valley of Love

The name “Valley of Love” has a long history, closely linked to the development of Da Lat. In the 1930s, when Da Lat was a favorite resort for French nobility and officials, the area was named Vallée d’Amour (Valley of Love) by the French.

During the reign of Emperor Bao Dai (1913-1997), it was called “Valley of Peace,” perhaps to express a yearning for peace after the upheavals of history. However, in 1953, to affirm the sovereignty and love of the Vietnamese people for this land, the then Chairman of the Da Lat Town Council, Mr. Nguyen Vy, officially proposed changing the name to “Valley of Love.” Since then, this name has become deeply ingrained in the consciousness of locals and tourists alike.
