According to the Dak Lak Gazetteer, Vung Ro has 12 small beaches, including: Lach Beach, Mu U Beach, Ngai Beach, Chua Beach, Chan Trau Beach, Ho Beach, Hang Beach, Nho Beach, Chinh Beach, Bang Beach, Lau Beach, and Nhan Beach. Some beautiful beaches include Chua Beach, Bang Beach, Lau Beach, etc. Many types of shrimp and fish live in the bay. The seabed also has many beautiful and unique coral species.

Next to Vung Ro Bay is a natural preservation area, north of Ca Pass, a protected forest that stretches across the Vong Phu Mountains. The forest, which covers an area of 8,780ha, has rich flora and fauna, including 191 plant species, 22 animal species, and 55 bird species. Some rare and precious animals, such as pheasants, red-faced monkeys, Tibetan bears, Malayan bears, pangolins, and panthers, also live in the forest.

From 1964 to 1965, Vung Ro received 4 ships that docked safely, delivering thousands of tons of weapons and ammunition to support the battlefields of South Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. Vung Ro was recognized by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1997.
