The Truc Lam Tra Vinh Zen Monastery is the first Zen monastery of the Truc Lam Yen Tu sect in old Tra Vinh province (currently merged to Vinh Long Province). It is situated in Khoan Tieu hamlet, Truong Long Hoa Ward, covering nearly 10 hectares within the Ba Dong coastal mangrove forest ecological tourism complex.

Truc Lam Tra Vinh Zen Monastery includes main structures such as: the sanctum, ancestral hall, bell tower, drum tower, triple-arched gate, rest house, open-air statue of Quan Am (Guan Yin), shrine to Mother Au Co, lecture hall, refectory, guesthouse, library, kitchen, water tower, etc. The structures are harmoniously integrated with nature.

The entire architecture of Truc Lam Tra Vinh Zen Monastery is designed and built according to the model of Vietnamese Buddhist pagodas during the Ly-Tran dynasties (12th to 14th centuries), typically featuring two-tiered tiled roofs. The eaves are gently curved, reflecting the humility and harmony with nature of the Vietnamese people.
